Busy Bee

Hello all! Sorry I've been M.I.A. for a while, but I have seriously been so busy within the last two weeks.  As per usual, my job is demanding as ever and the closer we get to July 4th, the busier I am.  But, let me fill you in on what's been going on in my life the last week and a half.

I worked nine days in a row to have off last Friday and Saturday so I could visit my boyfriend in Long Island.  It was dreadful, but it really paid off.  He had told me he wanted me to come down to do something for me for my birthday.  I had absolutely no idea what he had planned for us, but all of my best friends did, so I begged them to tell me, to which they didn't.  Thankfully.

I decided to take the train to LI because there is no way possible I was/am capable of driving through the city.  New Yorkers are super crazy when they drive, so I'd most likely have an anxiety attack.  I got to his town safely around 9:30 on Thursday night and was all giddy waiting to find out what we were doing the following day for my birthday.  When we woke up the next morning, I put my hands behind my head underneath my pillow and felt a piece of paper and pulled out what looked like a ticket, so I handed it to him and said "Is this yours or your moms?"  He just looked at me and shrugged his shoulders so I read it and saw "Gershwin Theatre" and almost peed myself.  He surprised me with tickets to see Wicked! My favorite broadway show in the entire universe.

We spent the entire day together, went to a beautiful Italian restaurant for dinner, then were on our way to the city to see the show at 8:00.  It was perfect, just as I expected.  I was so happy to be sharing such a wonderful day with the most thoughtful person I have ever met.  Needless to say, I had an amazing time with him.  It went way too quick, but overall it was a great visit.

Other than that, I haven't done much with my days.  I have today and tomorrow off so I'll be on top of my blogging game.  I promise!

Until next time

Ignorance is Bliss.

Hi everyone! I'm sorry that I'm awful at blogging, but my life isn't too exciting so I don't have much of anything to blog about every day.  But, I have found my topic for today.

A particular event that recently occurred that has the public in an uproar: the NSA leak.

Some people may not be aware of what's going on, so I'll break it down quick.  It was currently brought to the public that the US government and the NSA have direct access to nine Internet companies (Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Facebook, PalTalk, AOL, Skype, YouTube, and Apple) through a PowerPoint presentation code-named PRISM, and that Verizon has been handing over all of their customers call logs to the government relating to foreign suspects in terror investigations.

I repeat, relating to foreign suspects in terror investigations.

My Facebook friends and Twitter followers have been going crazy over this saying how "unconstitutional and ridiculous" it is that the government is "spying on us and invading our privacy."  1.  The government is not spying on you nor is it invading your privacy.  I highly doubt the NSA is worried about what your plans are for Saturday night with that girl/boy you recently asked out.
2.  Also, if everyone researched just a teeny bit more, they would know this "spying" has been going on for seven years.  And all of us have lived perfectly fine without knowing up until this point.  Hence the title of this post; what we don't know won't affect us.

What people need to understand is that the NSA has been looking through online data and our call logs for our safety. The safety of every single one of us US citizens.  I don't know about you, but if the government can catch some form of suspicious terrorism activity before anything fatal happens through call logs and online data, I would be extremely happy and not worried that they were snooping in on my texts to my best friends/boyfriend/family.

Until next time

June Thangs

Hey guys! I sorry I'm already the worst blogger on the planet but my job is so annoying and takes up most of my day, so when I get home I completely crash.

Now that I'm back to my job, I have to make my own breakfast, lunch and dinners for workdays.  I'm really trying to get in the habit of eating healthy food, rather than the processed, nasty food that surrounds all of us every day.  I begged my mom to grab me a wide variety of fruit and veggies, but she knows me and my health-kick phases that I go through and only got me a few things to make sure I was very serious about this and simply not wasting her money.

Strawberries,
raspberries,
bananas,
and avocados.

This morning I made my regular pot of coffee and a breakfast shake.  The breakfast shake composed of 1 cup of strawberries and raspberries, a whole banana, plain low-fat greek yogurt, and a splash of orange juice.  It was delicious

For lunch, I made a quick and easy avocado spread.  To make the spread I used 1 avocado, feta cheese, 2 chopped leaves of basil, sea salt and cracked pepper.  Then, I spread it on top of whole wheat toast. I'm ecstatic because I have some left over for tomorrow!

I really, truly hope I stick true to this diet because not only do I feel run down most of the time because of the crap I eat, but my family and I are going on vacation July 13th, and I need to fit into my bikini's.

Also, my 21st birthday is in less than 12 hours and I cannot be more excited! I don't have anything crazy planned, but I'm super excited for my mom's homemade lasagna for dinner tomorrow night and my favorite cake (jello cake).  I also know for a fact that I do not want any beer as a gift.  I'm really over the beer stage in my life.

Until next time

My First Post

Hello everyone! I'm so new to all of this blogging stuff so bear with me until I get into the swing of things.

My name is Devin, and I'm your average 21 year-old sorority girl.  I go to a small SUNY school, where I study Public Relations and General Business.  I love everything about the summer, makeup, fashion, and food, but then again, what girl my age doesn't?

I wanted to start a blog to release my opinions and experiences with relationships, friendships, and fashion or whatever issue comes up in my everyday life.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!
Until next time
